This post details our experience of using a sprint with Palmerston North City Council. A sprint challenges many of the existing ways of working for a local government. Among these are requiring a team to focus on a single challenge for the duration of the project, and that results are achieved through the sprint faster than the organisation's normal pace. On the other hand a sprint allows professionals to tap into their full skill-set and creativity.
We worked with Palmerston North, NZ to use a sprint to rapidly develop and prototype policy and a service process for an urban innovation - flex space and parklets. This post outlines urban innovations, how they spread, and provides and overview of a sprint.
In this post we share our experience using concepts from the Lean Start-Up for urban design projects in Napier, New Zealand.

Why the Lean Startup approach can transform the testing and application of ideas from city to city.
